We are currently working with a client who is seeking qualified candidates for a OPERATIONS MANAGER  position based out of their Conyers, GA location.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is an established manufacturer in Georgia and is currently looking for a OPERATIONS MANAGER to join their team. Ideal candidates will be someone who can create plans, drive change and grow with the company.

This self-starter will direct and coordinate activities concerned with production of company products by performing duties personally or through subordinate managers and supervisors. The Operations Manager will be reporting to the Conyers Manufacturing facility General Manager.


ABOUT THE JOB

Job functions for the OPERATIONS MANAGER position include, but are not be limited to:

  • Coordinates all manufacturing activities at the Manufacturing facility.
  • Leading a team of Supervisors
  • Develop and administer safety policies, procedures and training that insure a safe work place for all full time, staffing and contract employees.
  • Establishes production and quality control standards, develops and implements budget and cost controls.
  • Plans production activities and directs plants superintendents to establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
  • Coordinates production activities with production planning, maintenance, shipping and quality control to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
  • Coordinates new technology or process implementation with Technology and Development department.
  • Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Directs revision of production of schedules and priorities as a result of equipment failure or operating problems.
  • Reviews monthly inventory levels on high-dollar raw materials.
  • Performs duties of plant superintendents in their absences.
  • Responsible for budgeting process for all manufacturing areas.
  • Prepares annual capital and operating expense budgets for the production plants.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for the OPERATIONS MANAGER  position, candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years in manufacturing operations experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to use basic computer applications and an understanding of spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Conducting daily department safety meetings.
  • Conducting audits to ensure the production of a quality product.
  • Coordinating with Production Planner to identify and ensure necessary daily production, reviewing production sheets and deciding which line/equipment to use in order to meet daily goals.
  • Relaying necessary information to employees (i.e. Production schedule, work schedule, HR information).
  • Conducting audits to ensure acceptable housekeeping levels are being maintained.
